Ingredients
  

Steak and Pasta

  • 1 lb sirloin or ribeye steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 10 oz rigatoni pasta
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning, plus extra to taste
  • 2 tablespoon unsalted butter, divided
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • ¾ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese Use freshly grated for best melting
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese (optional) Add for extra creaminess
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Cooking Steps

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  • Pat the steak cubes dry, coat with Cajun seasoning, and sear in a skillet with olive oil and butter until browned. Set aside.
  • Add rigatoni to boiling water and cook until al dente. Reserve ½ cup pasta water before draining.
  • Sauté garlic in butter, add cream, and scrape up browned bits from the pan.
  • Stir in Parmesan and mozzarella until smooth.
  • Toss pasta and steak with sauce, adjust consistency with pasta water if needed, and season to taste.

Notes

Reserve pasta water to adjust sauce thickness. Adjust Cajun seasoning to your preferred heat level.
