Ingredients
  

Chocolate Coating

  • 1 cup chocolate chips Use baking chocolate for best results.
  • 2 teaspoon vegetable oil Can substitute with neutral oils like grapeseed or canola.

Strawberries

  • 500 g strawberries Approximately 25 strawberries, depending on size.

Optional Coatings

  • Desiccated coconut
  • Crushed nuts
  • Sprinkles
  • Other coating of choice

Instructions
 

Preparation Steps

  • Line a tray with baking paper (parchment paper).
  • Place chocolate in a microwave-proof bowl.
  • Microwave on high in 30 second bursts, stirring in between, until smooth.
  • Pick up a strawberry by its stem and dip into the chocolate, rolling to coat.
  • Place onto the tray and repeat with remaining strawberries.
  • If using coatings, dip the chocolate-covered strawberry into the coating before laying it on the tray.
  • Refrigerate for 30 minutes or until chocolate is firm.
  • Best served within 12 hours of making.

Notes

Use cooking/baking chocolate for melting. The addition of oil gives a shinier finish and softer set chocolate.
