  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper to ensure easy removal and prevent sticking.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter and light brown sugar until smooth and well combined.
  • Add the egg, honey, and vanilla extract, then whisk again until the mixture is fully incorporated and glossy.
  • Gradually stir in the all-purpose flour, salt, and half of the ground cinnamon (½ teaspoon). Mix gently until just combined to avoid overmixing.
  • Pour the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan. In a small bowl, combine the granulated sugar with the remaining ½ teaspoon of ground cinnamon.
  • Evenly sprinkle this sugar-cinnamon mixture over the batter to form a sweet, crunchy topping.
  • Bake the dessert in the preheated oven for 22 to 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Once baked, allow it to cool completely in the pan before slicing and serving.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use high-quality vanilla extract. Make sure not to overbake to keep the dessert moist and tender. Store leftover dessert in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. This dessert pairs wonderfully with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
